Shopping in Visoko
From modern shopping centers to local boutiques, Visoko offers a variety of shopping experiences. Use this guide to plan ahead and make your experience shopping more convenient.
Important: Sunday Closures
By law, all retail shops, supermarkets, and general stores are closed on Sundays. Only cafes, pubs, restaurants, and gas stations remain open for business. Please plan your shopping and supply needs accordingly.
Cash is King
While major supermarkets such as Konzum, Bingo, Kovo, and Mercator accept credit and debit cards, the vast majority of independent shops and local vendors are cash-only. Be sure to exchange your currency for the local Convertible Mark (KM/BAM) at a local bank to avoid inconvenience.
Operating Hours
- General Retail: Typically closes by 18:00.
- Local Shops (Food & Other Items): Often open late, until 21:00–22:30.
- Plan Ahead: If you are eyeing a specific purchase, aim to visit during daylight hours.
Shopping Districts
For local souvenirs and unique memorabilia, take a stroll along Alija Izetbegović Street or Čaršijska Street. These corridors serve as the town's historical commercial heart, perfect for exploring a wide variety of independent shops at your own pace.
